The Arts Council of Monterey County honors exemplary individuals and an extraordinary nonprofit at our eight annual gala - a special evening that has become a signature event. Each year we encourage and promote excellence in all aspects of the arts by recognizing outstanding Monterey County organizations and individuals.

This year, it's our honor to present the Champions of the Arts/Lifetime Achievement to Tim Jackson - Artistic Director of the Monterey Jazz Festival.

We will also present awards to:

Luminary - Dr. Carl Christensen – Retired Director Hartnell College Music Department
Nonprofit - Henry Miller Memorial Library – a Big Sur cultural center
Professional - Dr. Renee Curry – Writer, professor, arts advocate
Volunteer Leader - Liz SanchezCaminos Del Arte, Alisal Center for the Arts, and more
Educator - Hamish Tyler - Founding Director of the Media Center for Art, Education and Technology
Philanthropist - John and Barbara Pekema – Founding board members of Sol Treasures


Our doors open with a wonderful reception at 5pm featuring a silent auction of fine art, fine wine and fantastic fun gifts. To view our auction online click here. To view our auction donors since 2006 click here.

New this year - Our event features special music performances throughout, headlined by Mambo Tropical Trio with Orlando Castro. Among the highlights will be a Video Valentine to the Champions, and a wine cellar raffle. We always have a few surprises lined up as well.

"All proceeds benefit arts and education programs for students with the greatest needs in Monterey County".
